JANICE BOND

Janice Bond is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores kinship, memory, and the architectures of care through photography, mixed media, and time-based installations. Her practice draws on sacred geometry, sound, and fractal systems to map the emotional ecologies that bind people to each other and to place.

Her ongoing series Beyond the Binary, begun in 2016, is an evolving community-driven project centering intergenerational portraits and language collected from women and femmes worldwide. The work examines the kinship between the woman's body and nature, treating complexity as knowledge rather than liability. In 2022, she opened ART IS BOND gallery in Houston, and in 2025 was named Executive Director of the Chicago Public Art Group, continuing to expand a body of work grounded in the belief that images can be instruments of belonging.

While analyzing systemic barriers and creating legislative solutions, Katharine began painting to tap into her expressive and creative side, enabling her to explore unconventional approaches. On the brink of the COVID pandemic in 2020, she jumped into building an art career full-time. LESLIE CRUZ

Leslie Cruz began her journey in art to support children who have experienced trauma, influenced by both her humanitarian background and her own childhood experiences. Art became her outlet for healing, inspiring her to create programs that give children a safe space for self-expression and growth.

Her approach is two-fold: being the mentor she needed as a child and developing individualized programs tailored to each child's unique needs. She believes in understanding and addressing what each child requires, rather than imposing a one-size-fits-all solution.
